Hey all,
I thought I had the engine idle override figured out. I set the cruise and then hit res/accel and it will idle all night.
Tonight it's revving up to 1100 rpms and it's very loud. I have not noticed this before. Is it normal? Any other suggestions? Thanks

might be doing a parked regen, usually takes 20-60 min
Plan-B Trucking and soisauz Thank this. -
Make sure you keep that DD up on it's higher RPM setting when it's idling. Otherwise you will see abnormal crankshaft bearing wear, which causes a lot of issues and costs a lot of money. Shouldn't be 1100, closer to 900 rpm. Also helps keep sulfuric acid buildup lower, according to the dd15 manual.

What does DD mean?

Sounds like your doing a Regen.
Our 2014 will idle if the temp is above 70 degrees. The company programmed it that way. Have you spoken with your company about their idle policy ? Some won't let drivers idle at all.soisauz Thanks this. -
The acc/res (Accelerate / Resume) controls idle bump up and dec/set (Decelerate /Set) controls the bump down. Tap the dec/set to lower the idle one notch at a time or hold it to drop all the way down.

Thanks for your replies. I think it was doing a regen. My company has it set to idle down to 69°. It was 81 last night so it should have been fine.

guess it's a good thing the temp sensor don't work right.
but, how about idling when it's cold????? and the temp says 50 degrees. but it's really 20 outside. -
The Volvo engines will run a "regen" cycle when idling in cold weather. Never does it when warm though.
