Im getting ready to shell out some money for CDL training and was looking for some unsponsored advice on what would be the smartest and most economical route to take. Im looking to be licensed and ready for hire by mid to late October. I live in Northwest Florida where there are a limited number of places to train and I don't mind paying a little extra than normal for the right school since I'm quite sure that employers are paying attention to where their applicants are getting trained. If anyone can offer some insight on what would be the smartest way to proceed Im all ears.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Depends. I did mine in Miami cause the VA paid for it. Places like werner and some other bottom feeder mega carrier won't take you unless school is on their list

I'd recommend settling on a few companies you want to work for then cross check their lists of approved schools they hire from. Most important, DO NOT GO WITH A PROGRAM BASED ON LESS THAN 160 HOURS OF CURRICULUM. That is the minimum any company will recognize. I believe this May have even become DOT law back in May with the new regs.
