I've been driving for a mega carrier for 3 months and they require me to pay any tolls not covered by prepass, as well as scale tickets and they reimburse the amount on the next check. They can load the fuel card I have for my truck, on the checking side but they won't reimburse ATM withdrawal fees. I don't use advances for personal use and to pay for ATM fees to help them out seems wrong, what's your company policy. Without naming companies

Don't use the ATM anymore, those fees add up.Do you have to pay a fee if the cashier does cash advances? You will get reimbursed but you have to make sure to send in all receipts before the cut off date is otherwise you'll get paid the following week.

just get a cash advance when you fuel up, no charge... I know of NO company that pays ATM fees, since you can get a cash advance when you fuel for free.

I always carry some cash on me to cover any tolls, weigh tickets, faxes or whatever that may come up... I have it stashed in a safe place and only use it for those things... I also have an emergency fund and credit card with me at all times too....

If you don't have a bank account with a debit card, get one as soon as possible. Your paycheck should be changed to direct deposit on that bank debit card instead of the Comdata card. From your post it seems like your paycheck is going onto your Comdata card, and it is expensive getting money out of that.

Once you have a debit card you can get up to $100 cash back any time you make a purchase at Walmart. That's what I do about once a week to have cash on hand for incidental expenses. Then you have zero ATM fees.

You may also consider carrying some travelers checks, as an extra means of protection, less chance of theft than with cash.

Lepton you are wrong. You can do a comdata or tch check to get your pay that way. When you fuel its free. Loves and TA limit you to 500 and Pilot does a 1000. I just usually use atm. I don't trust banks so no bank account. I have preloaded dc. Transfer money from fuel card to dc and get cash out for what I need.
