Hi,
The recruiters at USA trucking are RUDE, just my opinion, in fact I have found female recruiters to be rude.
The recruiter from Schneider was ever so nice. A MAN!

Is it the insurance companies that don't want me to drive for a company or is it something else? I had USA Truck tell me no today and I asked why and the lady told me she didn't have to give me an explanation.

And advice? Thanks

There are a lot more stores going out of business so doesn't that mean less trucks needed for deliveries ? Haven't you read the articles about applications piling up at trucking companies because there are far more applicants than openings ? It's tough enough for an experienced trucker to try to stay employed . You have it right saying leave the job to professionals . There is still a need for professionals . The only need for newbies is to fill the seat of a truck that got abandoned by another rookie that got a reality check . Entering the industry with no experience is a foolish , irresponsible decision .
EVERYONE HAD TO START SOMEWHERE, there are other industrys hirting for me I have thought about being a truck driver many times and there is never the perfect time to be new in any work force, look at all the college grads that cant find a job,so sorry that new people entering the work force makes it tough for you its tough for everyone what about your reality check

The past month I've been out of work after having surgery . I'll be out another 2 weeks . But when I drive it goes like this . I go to the terminal 10 minutes from the house . I get a preloaded trailer and drive about 400 miles to 500 miles then stop , usually at a Flying J with WiFi . The next day I drive 50 - 150 miles , spend an average 2 hours unloading . The trailers are dedicated and go back to the terminal empty . Miles are paid round trip .Then I do it again .

New people entering the work force doesn't make it tough for me except having to deal with their sloppy maneuvering on the highway . But the truth is many of them will never enter the work force . [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. . Since this article was written in December over 80,000 more people have lost their jobs in the industry and trucking schools have probably turned out several thousand graduates . So it sure isn't a perfect time . So go ahead and keep thinking about driving because you won't likely get further than that . You might as well apply for a job at a GM assembly plant . The odds of getting a job are the same .

It's nice to see a 5 star General, being truthful, and honest with new people...

Thanks , but too many of them prefer to listen to the lies of recruiters and trucking school staff . They like their ears tickled .
2 Timothy 4:3,4–”For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.”
