Hey everyone, I'm on a reset but just learned I'll have to move my truck about 500 feet 32 hours into my reset. I've heard this will invalidate my reset. My truck has Qualcomm. Any advice? Thanks in advance

You can move 500 feet just fine. I have needed to reposition my truck several times during breaks and resets. This is especially true if I got in late and had to make my own parking. If you keep it in granny gear and don't move more than two blocks, the clock won't even show it. No need to file reports or call anyone.

Use the off duty driving button, aka, personal conveyance.

every company is different on what activates the drive line some is speed some mileage some just moving
even if you activate driveline safety can USUALLY fix that for you
most companies also have a line 5 for personal conveyance as your not loaded

many ways around not much of a problem

I've done that during breaks as well. But someone told me a while ago that resets were different. I don't know. Would logging off be a good idea? I'll end up about 200 feet from where I am now.

If you're on EOBR most companies have it setup so moving 500 feet won't trigger it to change so you should be ok

Every Qualcomm I have had doesn't log driving if you don't drive at least 5 minutes no matter how far you drive. So I would put it on driving, move 500 feet and then put it on off duty and it will look like you never put it on driving as long as you change back to off duty before 5 minutes. Risky if you don't know how yours is setup but something you can check in the future.

there is nothing different about a reset then any other time you move the truck
if you can move from the fuel island to a parking spot off duty your ok
if you go on duty just to move around the parking lot
DOT will love your diligence but your hours dwindle away from neglect
