I have been watching a lot of trucker movies(Black Dog, White Line Fever, Hijack, Joy Ride, ect) lately and one thing they all have in common is they get in some duel with another truck on the highway that is trying to kill them.
I have only been driving a year and most drivers i have seen on the road have been pretty courteous so far.
Does this thing ever really happen out there?
Has another truck ever tried to run you off the road?

Don't take tv serious. I have almost been run off the road but it was unintentional.

"Smokey and the Bandit" would be a more accurate portrayal of the industry

Not very likely unless the driver is on drugs.. Or from NY /NJ

Intentionally tried ...no
accidentally been distracted or obviously tired ..... YES !
sometimes it seems people forget they are towing a trailer and literally start coming over on you.
thank heaven for shoulders to run off on .
some of these drivers behave as if they are driving cars and not 73 foot long trucks -
See it every day ... Two 64.5 MPH trucks end up in the same vicinity on an interstate and it's a horrific scene to observe that seems to never end.
"Duel", 1971 starring Dennis Weaver, directed by Stephen Spielberg (one of his first). Classic crazy truck[er] movie, old-schoolbigkev1115 Thanks this. -

Heck, had one today on my way home. He exited the interstate and pulled away from his stop sign at the end of his get-off ramp right in front of me as I came through on the 2-lane (cross traffic does not stop) he was turning onto. LUCKILY there was nobody coming the other way, so I just gave a good long tug on the air horn as I blew past him at 55 mph. The alternative would have been to lock 'em up and slam into the side of his trailer.
Sure would be nice if people would look before pulling out...ESPECIALLY when there is an 80,000 pound truck approaching quickly.
