I have a 9-5 M-F job working in an office but I don't make enough money and want to find a weekend job. Is it possible to find weekend only trucking jobs and what would the pay be like? I'm located in Springfield, Massachusetts

Part time I'm sure they may be out there, as a "fill in" or "relief driver"...but 99% of the stuff you did find would be local/LTL and they would want experience.

It would have to be a city or local job, where you dont go more than a few hours from home, if that. Imagine the headaches involved if the truck broke down 500 miles from home on Sunday afternoon and you HAD to be home Monday morning for your other job.

For all the headaches involved if you have no experience, you are better off just finding any hourly pee-on job you can, or just making the leap and going Over the road full time if you really want to make some money.

Most of the time they re referred to as casual drivers. Its basically like a driver who is retired, and work a few days a week, or one who fills in to cover runs in their spare time

If I had experience could I make OK money? Maybe 400 a weekend?

I'm considering going out to the ND oilfields for a year or two and then come back home get a 9-5 job and a weekend job driving if I still feel like it

You might find something moving trailers in and out of docks, such as a manufacturing or distributing center. Most plants don't work on weekends, but it might be worth checking. You could check with your local state employment office. Some companies still list positions with them.

Legally you'd have to log your 9-5 job on duty if you picked up a weekend driving job.

Contact your local waste removal companies.

There are several jobs in my area that are weekend only in that niche. Companies rather give you an extra $/hr on Sunday rather than a guy x1.5 or x2 for overtime.
