So this post is for a friend of mine getting out of school this week...
Trying to get more info on this company regarding the PODS hauling on fb. My friend is being offered a job out of school with only 2 weeks training at CCC and was told he will be only hauling the pods making .31 cpm with 2800 to 3000 miles per week 3-4 weeks out.
Sounds good to me I told him but at the same time almost to good to be true as a newbie. He would be based out of Auburndale FL.
Any suggestions or advise for him?
I haven't ran into anot her driver that works for CCC while I've been on the road to ask about it.

    Chinatown Thanks this.

That's not too good to be true; that's about average for a new driver right out of school. With some research, he can do much better.
That's a Comcar company and they have several divisions to choose from.
He would make more per year with CTL division, but just depends on what he wants.

Thanks for info. He didn't want to do fb but when they told him pods only he was ok with. I thought .31 cpm was little low. I remember starting at .32 cpm on 53' van 4 Yrs ago. I am just wondering if 3000 miles per week would be there. Any drivers out there doing pods for CCC?

You'll be hard pressed to find a Pods driver doing 3K miles a week.

    Especially with CCC.

    And double especially in floriduh...........

    Chinatown and xlsdraw Thank this.

I just called Comcar, and their CTL division will take new drivers. Mileage is 2500-3000 per week and their pay is 42 loaded and 34 Empty paying zip code to zip code miles with the fastest route so they say. That sounds pretty good, but I'm not sure how to call those miles since I've heard practical miles, hub miles, HHG miles, etc. Does anyone know which one Comcar (CTL) uses and if this company is a good deal overall especially for a new CDL driver?

I'm not terribly knowledgeable in all the terminology but I think that is considered HHG. At least that's what people at the company my Husband is going to work for has indicated. The company said HHG and the employees said zip to zip so I'm assuming one and the same but I could be wrong and it may vary from based on the company (??). Hope this helps!

I'll give you an example of a HHG routing. El Paso, Tx to Phoenix, Az. I 10, right? No way. Here is the HHG route. I10 west to New Mexico I 10 exit 102, (akela). Take NM 549 west into Demming. I 10 west to exit 22 in Lordsburg. From there US 70 west thru Safford, Az into Globe, then Us 60 into Phoenix. Got this straight from the Rand mcnally hhg cd some years back. It only @ 18 miles shorter than I 10 all the way. From Ft Worth to Phoenix you would leave I20 east of Weatherford and take us 180 all the way across the rest of tx into NM than it actually runs on a route you can't even take with a 53' trailer on US 82 to Alamagordo. Another: Frome Mobile,Al to Nashville, you don't even get on the Interstate(I65) until you get to Birmingham!! They get a few miles here and some more there and pretty soon you are shafted out of a lot of miles.
