Any good driver or trucker associations that can be joined to learn more, be more gain more from budding up with other company drivers, owner operators, etc? You know any groups that might actually physically meet from time to time toe to toe over coffee or something just to talk shop ....... Maybe even groups that might meet somewhere out on the road. Any thoughts ......

It is not necessarily what you are referring to, but please check out http://truckersfinalmile.org. It is an IRS 501(c)(3)recognized charity, designed to reunite truck drivers and their families in the event of death, debilitating injury or serious illness.

OOIDA is only interested in your membership fee and then trying to sell you services, They only do lawsuits that can be made class action so their lawyers can make big money off the suit,,,OOIDA is a lot like AARP making members think they are looking out for them but all they want to do is get your money or make money off you,,

Sounds like it's your time to shine BluesDude98. Start planning how you want to go about setting up your "Knights of the Highway" group!

I was a member for 25 years; good outfit. They tore Tennessee a new one which helped all truckers passing through that state.

You might be right .... To Pahrump's point; I did lose all respect for AARP when it was revealed the organization was pushing OBAMACARE as a great benefit to its members only to find out AARP never thought it was a great benefit to its members and that it was was only making money off its members (standing to make millions of dollars) by pushing its members into the programs. I heard of OOIDA but do not know much about the organization or their reputation.
