I have 4 months experience.
Hi all, 2 questions, for me and a schoolie friend in the same situation:
1. I have my CA CDL from CR England, but got fired for going back and "editing" my logs, erasing Fuel and Pre-Post inspections...which they did not like, got the bus home to Los Angeles. Is unemployment an option till I find another driving job?
2. Will anyone hire me, and who? I KNOW I fouled up, know why, will not do it again. Like GOAL, I acted before thinking.
Any suggestions? I would REALLY like something local to LA, at nights, to leave my days free to pursue other things.

And why would you edit your logs to delete things? -
Yes, no one else will care more than likely. As long as you dont repeat the editing till you at least know what your doing. Where are you, that will help suggestions. In the old days you would have recieved a merit badge, but no more you horrible bad person.

I declare your unemployment claim VALID. File immediately upon your arrival in Los Angeles. The demand for truckers is so OUTRAGEOUS in the LA Basin, recruiters will be calling you the moment you hit town.

I was using the Qualcomm Logs. I got advice from someone to keep my 70 hr clock down, go back and edit all those 5-10 minute "on duty" segments as "breaks." I was not careful or experienced enough to know.

GREAT, that's what I thought! I applied at Conway, they said, 1 year OTR with another Carrier first. Should I even ask CA Unemployment or legal aid!?

Actually I enter off duty as soon as the truck stops, I show pretrip and fueling in the same 15 minutes in the am. I always let the elog do the off duty to driving switch, all the little stuff adds up.

Your company should have a policy on editing logs. My company doesn't allow more than two log editing s day I believe. That's why they say "don't get creative with your logs.

If you can find a company that uses loose leaf logs, they will probably require you to go back and edit your logs so that you have more time. Would have been better if you had completed a year or at least a winter with CR England.

I would file with the Federal DOT a complaint against CR England for them ordering you to falsify your drivers record of duty (log book) got to the FMCSA website for info,,file for unemployment,,you will have to appeal it but you can win,,hope you have a record even if personal notes of all information,,
