I was thinking about when I got my licence for my four wheeler and it was "parallel park ,now go drive around a circle and 2 miles on the freeway and you're done".

I assume CDL-A test is much more intense and lasts for 1 hr+?

we went in groups of 3 or 4, i was first to go cause i wanted to get it over with. It was cloudy when i did my pre-trip and backing maneuvers. Got almost done with my driving and the bottom fell out, literally couldnt see 100ft in front of me. managed to get through it and finish the exam. I don't know who was more nervous,me or the examiner!

I have never taken a driving exam for trucks. Back in 1973, had written test only for Chauffer's License, when CDL's were introduced, I was grand-fathered in because no tickets on license previous 5 (?) years. I would probably have trouble passing the written test today.
