So I guess trucking isn't for me , I was coming home off the expressway and it has 2 lanes on left which curve and 2 lanes on right(exit ramp) .

I was in the left lane and wanted to change lanes to right ,I blinker check my mirrors and blindspot wait a second then change and instantly heard someone tap a horn and can see a guy on the exit ramp giving me a evil stare but couldn't see behind me because the road curvses .What I think happened was I ran him off the road or something so he swerved to the exit ramp ,or I hit someone and couldn't see them stop behind me and he gave me the evil stair .

Now I'm not sure if someone was behind me and I couldn't see them or if the horn wasn't even about me and the evil stare was just in my head and am freaking out waiting for the cops to come.

Weather or not I caused a crash ,the fact that I'm freaking out and might have proved to me truckings not for me . Now my school is freaking out at me for wanting to drop out cause I will ruin some kind of record/bonus they have going .

I wouldn't overreacted. Just wait it out if nobody phone it in you're fine.

    I never switch lanes in a curve because I can't see 100%
Always check your mirrors so you know at all times who's on your side and behind you.

Also if you hit someone while switching lane, their car won't be disable and will probably follow you

go with your gut...if feel that trucking is not for you then get out from behind the wheel before you actually hurt someone or yourself.

Whether you can do the job or not is a question you need to seriously ask yourself. Not everyone is suppose to be a driver, just like not everyone is suppose to be a lawyer, judge, doctor, or rodeo clown. It takes skill and confidence to drive that tractor, and if you are lacking in either one of those an accident is inevitable. When you ask yourself if you are cut out to drive 40 tons of angry metal and fiberglass down the road and the answer you keep getting is no, well than you have your answer right there.

I don't get it. If you're in a car and you hit someone I'd really hope you'd know it. You may or may not have caused someone to take an exit ramp but you don't know?? I wonder if you're looking for approval to drop out of school. Are my tax dollars paying for your school? If it's your money for it maybe it'd be tougher to quit. It's an honest question and yes I can be a bit abrasive or an ***. I'm lost on this. Do you hide under your bed if someone says BOO to you? I think plenty of truck drivers and drivers in general get a one finger salute and keep on going. How long have you been in school? If you really don't want to continue that's only up to you.

Huh? Am I reading this right? You "might" have caused a collision, and you're typing this post while waiting for the cops to come....

AND have not exited your truck to see what actually has occurred, or if there is another damaged vehicle behind you, or more importantly, an injured party?

Exactly. The OP just learned something. He'll learn something new just about every day on the road. I never switch lanes in curves either. Now that you've got that down, OP, you've just got to have the intestinal fortitude to stick it out and learn the other 999,999,999 things about driving a big rig. But hang in there if you can, it's gets better as you go on...

Yep it was your tax dollars ,which is why I don't feel too bad about wanting to quit, I also think thats one of the major reasons the school is pissed at me for wanting to quit

The thing is I always felt confident in driving and LOVED IT ,but now this event makes me rethink everything
