pay or percentage

    Which type of by is the best for being OTR. CPM orperrcebtage. Some companies give the option for com and percentage and in just curious which is best.

    For company drivers I've only seen flatbed offer percentage.

    Right now national average for flatbed is $2 a mile + fuel http://www.dat.com/Resources/Trendlines/Flatbed/National-Rates.aspx

    29% of $2 is .58 per mile
    Of course you don't get paid deadhead miles

    Unless you're on runs going to coast to coast % is probably the best way to go

    Regional? Short Hauls? Home Weekly? Percentage

    48 or 2/3 nation operation? Long hauls typical? Away for weeks? Mileage

    I've run tanker for 2 companies now and both pay %. I wouldn't stay if they didn't.

    you have to be able to trust the company and see the original rate sheet to go %
    or it is just whatever they wanna pay you

    I've had more than a couple BOL's that list transportation costs. I trust that more than what my company is willing to show me. The only time I have seen a discrepancy is on outside brokered loads.

    I say percentage. Unless, as someone said, you don't trust whoever it is you're working for. Just think it would be pretty ballsy of a company to lie about the rate but I suppose there are companies that have done that garbage.

    TMC pays deadheaad miles once at 150miles, and its paid at 20cpm. Not great but its a plus to get something.
