Triple points 1st 12 months; Reduced to double points the 2nd 12 months; Reduced to single points the 3rd 12 months. Completely gone after 36 months.

Takes three years (36 months) for each inspection to go away, whether it's good or bad.

The way they play with the numbers, one would hope they awarded "extra credit" if you've gone a certain number of years without any points. But that would be too fair, wouldn't it? They are looking to put the screws to drivers who don't comply, and it doesn't matter if you run 5 years without any points, you'll still get triple points on the first violation.

I know Vito. They penalize you for having any kind of violation. But for a good, clean inspection, you get nothing. The good should mitigate the bad in some way. And you can get more points for some things, like a brake light out, than for others like an inoperative brake.

Do they go down faster with each clean inspection? I received 45 CSA points. Warnings for low pressure on a drive, no papaer log book when I was running electronic logs, no window washer fluid, and the ABS light came on when I pushed in the brake even though it actually works fine. So you guys are saying it will take 12 years for them all to be gone?

It's 3 years. For example. Idk what those hold as severity weights each. Let's just say one was 7. Multiply by 3 the first year. Then deduct 7 each year for 3 years until 0. Kinda confusing.
