I Just Got My Class A CDL, I have A Felony And Some Misdemeanor Marijuana Cases, who will hire me. Please don't say Carolina Cargo, that's my last resort. I was a marijuana activist and made some mistakes but, I have been a new man for years and have a very good driving record. Are there any companies that will consider me based on my work history and driving record?

Thanks In Advance For Your Help!

    Chinatown and Shaggy Thank this.

marijuana activist? You mean a Enthusiast :biggrin_2559:

What is your work history ?

P.I & I will not hire him. The union side wouldn't touch him and the non union side wouldn't bother either chinatown. It's a horrible company anyway and no one deserves that crap.

You have more options than you might think. I don't know what your felony is for but companies are hiring like crazy. Take a day and fill out aps, weed through your options. I trained a few guys when I was with Schneider Bulk that had drug felonies, never had a problem with them.

Agree with ethos... especially if your convictions are older. Companies DO look at how long it has been since conviction. I was a trainer at one of the larger carriers and had a handful of students with convictions including one with a 8 year old Aggravated Assault conviction, he still got hired and was a decent driver. That being said if your convictions were more recent you'll have more trouble finding a driving job.

I wonder who authorized the news article about PI&I partnering with a CDL school to recruit felons being released from prison. Can't give you the reference, because I forgot, but maybe Land Line Magazine. I read the article a few months ago; within the last year.

Good luck with your search, as I'm sure you will eventually find something that's a good fit for you... and I do hope you've totally stopped smoking weed. If not, it will eventually catch up with you in this industry and cost you a career.

I would think with just a Marijuana charge against you that you would still have alot of options. Sitting on a couch getting baked eating doritos wouldn't make someone untrustworthy in my opinion, it's not like you robbed a little old lady or embezzled money which is what alot of employers would be considering.
