Well here's one for the day. So I'm getting unloaded and my load from NH to Atlanta was changed for a yankee candle load. Drive 115 miles to south deer field on route 2 @ 55 mph because of the speed limit and got 1 mile from the yankee candle pick up. They send a message and I press the button to have the Qualcomm read it while I'm driving it sys " we had you pulled of this load and your back on the one in NH." First of all, I'm not driving all the way to NH when I was just 18 miles from there two hoes ago. So, I told them well her name was Carrie. I don't complain and this is my first time ever doing this but I'm not driving all they back there for that load, my fuels low with no stops available, I have limited hours, sorry but this is not going to happen. She didn't like that and says well you can't do that. Your just a company driver and she obviously is having attitude issues, asking if I do this all the time. Well, she put service failure some where on me on something idk. I really don't care, and well see how this or what comes of this from now until a further date. So it was dead head 215 miles on low tanks with no fuel stops with 3 hours @ 55 mph to Nh. Not doing it sorry.
24th I'm due home. I told just to send me home now I'm not doing that so they put me back on this load that delivers on the 22nd in the morning.

So you were the 1 driving 55 down rt 2 that myslef and all the other trucks blew by LOL
But in all seriousness. We all have those kind of days. It sucks. In that situation I have asked for extra $ for the headache and usually get it. -
Depending on the company, service failure gets put on your dac
-
Sounds like a dispatch "service failure" to me?
but..Stuff happens
Did you get paid for the mistake? -
dude when i was with swift this happened on a weekly basis. you can't just tell them NO just because you dont "feel like it". who's truck you driving anyways bro? and who signs your paycheck?
FatDaddy Thanks this. -
No offense intended to our younger/less experienced drivers
but
they seem to be full of a lot of "Im not gonna" and "I wont"...
Yeah..you have a right to gripe/complain but ultimately you have to turn around and go backn get loaded.. -
You are a company driver? Paid by the mile? As long as those miles are documented and accounted for, why worry about it... You're rolling and earning...
FatDaddy and Red Hot Mess Thank this. -
Are you paid deadhead miles?
Are you lease or company? What I want to know, who is paying the fuel?
Mikeeee -
If you don't own the truck and can legaly do it without being tired then it's on you.
crappiejunkie Thanks this. -
Red Hot Mess, driverdriver and Mudguppy Thank this.
