Ok so today(10/21/14) I got my first ticket on my CDL. It wasn't really my fault but here it goes. I got sent to the Bay Area for a delivery. Conventional 2012 cascadia, and a 53' trailer. Well the freakin gps tried sending me through a "no trucks over 4 tons" highway, but when I noticed it, the super heavy traffic wouldn't let me cross over. So I decided that instead of causing an accident I mights well just drive and get out on the next exit, and find my way out through the city. Well thanx to my bad luck the CHP on the motorcycle was just right before the next exit and he gave me a ticket. I tried explaining to him the situation but he had no mercy on me whatsoever, and handed me my nice big ticket. Would I be able to fight this ticket and maybe come to a beneficial conclusion? By the way this was in Callfornia. Thanx guys.
Guys I'm freakin out. Please help.

does not matter if its cal or dont. you were caught on a no truck route. now you get to pay the fine. you would had better chances to pull up behind him and explain, ask for his help, waiting to get pullled over ensures the ticket. you can fight it but you ll still pay, maybe a lower amount.

So how was this not your fault again?
bigdogpile, FatDaddy, tow614 and 13 others Thank this. -
Hate to be the bearer of bad news but it really was your fault pay your ticket and move on
Fatboy42 Thanks this. -
got to plan those routes in california... many no truck roads.... yes it is your fault for being on the road. can you fight it? sure, you can hire a lawyer, spend a couple hundred, and maybe he can get the ticket reduced, and you pay a fine.
See the no truck sign, stop, do not go forward, turn on your hazard lights and let traffic clear... you will get cussed flipped off, but NO ticket... and the CHP and LOCAL cops will usually be setting just before the next chance to get off the restricted route. -
Well c'mon guys I'm pretty sure you guys all been in a situation where you kind of get lost and with this big rigs it's not that easy maneuvering that fast. Specially with stupid 4 wheelers not giving a cookie about you. I just don't want this as a point on my cdl. Hope the judge can really consider my side of the story and at least make that point a ghost.

Whenever you get a ticket call the number on the ticket and ask if there is any way to keep it off your record. I doubt it will work with this ticket but where I live it works if you have a clean record. I fight every citation of any kind that will go on my record. It is pretty easy to call and ask.
