Do I need air brakes endorsement if I have my permit? I think I do since the truck uses airbrakes but I don't know.

Is a CDL-A permit good for a class B truck?

Do I need someone in the truck with me if I have a permit?

How do I drive through curves with a trailer?I assume if its turning left I stay to the right and if its curving to the right I stay to the left since the trailer wheels will move more to the side I'm steering.

How do I make turns ? I assume its the same as normal except I don't turn the wheel as soon as in a car.

Do I need to know the pretrip for the test or is that just a company thing?

What is a normal price to rent a tractor+trailer for?

    Answers to your questions

    1. Yes you do need air brake endorsements even if you have a permit

    2. Class A CDL supercedes a Class B license

3.Yes you need someone with a CDL to be with you. Its about the same as a licensed driver with a teen with driving permit

    4. When going around a curve, you want to get close to the center line if your curve is to the right, and get close to the edge line on the right side if you re going to the left in a curve.

    5. Get you a good setup before making a turn, get in the right gear if its clear to make the turn, watch your trailer tandems and make sure you clear the curve before bringing it back into your lane.

6 Yes you need to know the pre trip. You will be responsible for the safe operation of your equipment and noticing defects when you pre trip and post trip.

I have no idea on how much it costs to rent a tractor trailer. Maybe a few hundred for the day

The insurance company will be grateful for your public documentation of a proposed illegal act.
No,, you can't drive a CMV with just a permit (and especially no experience).
A fully licensed Class A driver (or B, if a B-class vehicle) must be with you in the truck.

I don't know of any truck rental outfit worth their salt (ie. self-preservation) that will rent a truck to someone without a bona-fide license.

    1:eek:k

    2:Thanks

    3:Figured but wasn't sure

4:what?Why would I stay near center on a curve going right?Won't my trailer end up cross the line because im turning right?

Wait I see the confusion here ,lets assume were in the right lane of a double lane highway

    5:Wtf is a tandem?My trailer wheels?

6:WHy don't they make people do that to their car?Lame

Air Brakes is not an endorsement. It goes on your CDL as a restriction if you don't have it.
