Im not just trying to get my CDL though.
I dont have anyone that would let me practice in their truck and ive never actually driven one.
Im trying to do this right.
When I get out there, I want to know how to drive so I can start getting the experience that I need on the road.

Well, the video did have a lot of tips in it; and one point he made is that
some big national companies are certified to actually train (team), test,
    and license you. Another good video channel I saw (training) is this one;
$900 instead of $6K for training. No license, and you can rent his truck for
    $48 an hour...

    Good luck to you,

Ive watched the first video several times throughout my research but I havent seen the one you just posted, I will look into that thank you.
I do have my tuition already paid for through the WIA grant though. Thats why I am specifically trying to find a school with pell grant qualifications.
Its not for tuition but rather all the other expenses that go along with school.
    Again,
    Thank you for the info.

and thank you for posting this thread. I used a similar state unemployment office federal grant
for a college short-course plus unemployment benefit$ back in 1981 for structural and pipe drafting
and have been an estimator ever since (good money there too). Last job was estimating for a flooring
store, 55K + Company Tacoma Truck.

They are not supposed to rent a tractor trailer to anyone that does not have a CDL A, can't drive without one, can't get one without a tractor trailer. The old catch 21 situation. If you could rent the truck get a buddy with CDL A to go with you to make it all legal. Good luck.

I think you'd probably have to stay on his training yard with unlicensed rentals.
