Don't mind traveling but I want to be home as much as possible, I understand that the home every night people typically have the less paying more back breaking jobs lol but I'm still young I don't mind.. What are some of the best companies you know of as far as being home at LEAST every weekend? Thanks

Sunstate Carriers; saw some posts those drivers are home weekends or almost every weekend. Call and ask. They hire new CDL graduates. One of their drivers posted he's home every weekend.

Here's a thought that's a little out of the box.. I got my first full time trucking job with a crane company (I got my CDL while working for a south FL city, but did other jobs along with driving....). The decent sized companies are always looking for drivers to haul mobile crane's counter-weights and equipment, as well as tower crane sections and equipment...You don't necessarily need any special skills (to start at least), they usually pay pretty decent (hourly + overtime), you are home nightly about 99% of the time, AND if you are interested you can usually end up (down the road) getting trained how to operate cranes....One thing though- there is a fair amount of physical labor involved, especially if you get assigned to the mobile cranes (ie- crane setup, respooling hoist cables, etc.)

If interested, I would suggest checking out-

    ALL Crane Rental- http://www.allcrane.com/
    Florida Mechanical- http://www.flmech.com/
    Sims Crane- http://www.simscrane.com/
    Anthony Crane- http://www.anthonycraneusa.com/
    Morrow Crane- http://www.morrow.com/?gclid=CMTJucrQ1cECFQMT7AodrBYAVQ
    Crane Rental Corp- http://www.cranerental.com/
    Beyel Bros.- http://beyel.com/

There's others, but these are the larger companies. Hope this is helpful for you. Good luck!

the home every night people usually make more than your otr rookie, do your research. The way I see it, starting out you are gonna get paid peanuts anywhere you go, why not at least sleep in your own bed each night?
Back breaking work? your scared of it?

I've done very physical warehouse work in the past and trench digging in Florida summers, not scared of physical work by any means! Just want a decent job that could get me home every night if not most nights

Get your hazmat and tanker endorsement. Put two years in anywhere using a tractor trailer then come work for Eagle. I'm home every night and hauling fuel is far from back breaking.

I started out at 30cpm and made about $29k my first year. Almost three years later I'm local, home every night, and stand to make about $60k by the end of this year which is my 1st year hauling fuel.
