Here is a link to the updated Oct.2014 anti-idling laws, state by state. In another thread someone said he is not allowed to idle.

*note where it mentions, things like, "hours of service compliance", "prevent safety or health emergency", etc, etc.*

(so in effect, idling is legal, for driver comfort)

    Thanks to all in advance.

I am wondering. Has anyone here ever been ticketed for idling?

I was questioned one time by a law officer at a truck stop in Lodi, CA. (when the law first came out there) "how long has your truck been running"...and I said 5 minutes; to which he replied, "o.k., time to shut it down".
No ticket. And I had been idling for atleast an hour at that point. As soon as he left, I waited about 15 minutes, and started it back up. He was done cruising the lot.
