When driving through Austin the interstate gets divided into the two left lanes for local traffic and the two right lanes to bypass it all. I have always taken the ones on the right because the signs pretty much tell you that taking the ones on the left would be suicide. There is also a low bridge warning for those two lanes but I have seen standard 13-6 trailers going that way.

Just wondering what is going on there?

It's only low if you have to drive on the shoulder at one overpass. You can run the lower level with 13-6 as long as you stay put in either lane as you pass under that bridge. But I strongly recommend you run that [lower level] section in the left lane, as on-ramps are blind and short through there and those people tend to often drive crazy.

That's if you drive on the shoulder. The overpasses are rounded but as long as you stay in the lanes you are good to go.

Also if u run the lower level be careful at night as there have been people throwing stuff of the bridges as you drive under trying to cause accidents.

Also if you run the top level make sure you run the inside as the right lane is exit only to downtown when it dumps you off on the other side if you are going southbound.

The view is better if you take the high road. I usually forget which lanes I'm supposed to be in to go up top, so I take a guess and most of the time don't get to see much. That's my luck. Sure wish they'd make it more clear which lanes go up & which ones go below.

There is a bridge on the Pennsylvania turnpike that is 12'8". Almost wet my pants until I noticed it was only on the shoulder.
