I noted this morning while doing a quick inspection of my tractor and trailer (not going anywhere, just had a feeling I needed to do a walk around) that I'm missing mudflaps on the curb side of my tractor and trailer. They were there yesterday when I ran...

So that brings me to my two fold, and potentially stupid, question.

Im running through Ga, Al and at some point Ms. What's the dot's stance on these sturdy pieces of rubber?

As I said, they were there yesterday morning when I started. Did someone steal them or did they get ripped off? (Curious how something that isn't supposed to be touching the tires got taken off...)

You backed over a curb more than likely. Not required on the tractor as long as you have a trailer, use your left tractor flap to get you going. Replace them all later.

Don't recall backing over any curbs...but I hadn't thought of that. Still not sure how I'm missing flaps on the same side of both the tractor and trailer...

Ill give SNI maintenance a call and see what they say.

Mudflaps go for about 30 to 40 bucks and are easily detachable, so it wouldn't surprise me if someone stole your mudflaps.

    Big Don Thanks this.

I hate to say it but I was thinking the same. Especially since they are on the passenger side...

I think somebody needed some flaps. Were you in a lot, maybe at the edge, maybe that side was dark?

That honestly sounds about right. I padlock my trailer empty or not but I like to park in the rear area of lots... Less noise for the most part when I sleep. The area where I'm at now fits that description well enough. I've already pulled into a more lighted area of the lot...

Im a company driver, so I don't carry spare flaps. I'll call SNI maintenance and see what they have to say. I don't care if I have to buy them, but I want to be sure there's not a better option first.

You must have the mud flaps or you will get a write up.
    I speak from experience.
its even a civil and DOT offense in some states
