I run paper logs right now and when i make a mistake i rip out the page nice and clean and redo the page. But now i have a few days in a seperate log book cause i made quite the few mistakes. Some coworkers say its illegal and others dont. So im here to ask for more answers regarding this issue.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure you should NEVER rip them out. Write "void" over them if they're incorrect then move on to the next page.
-
Your fine, don't write void on a log sheet, this will only give DOT reason to run you throw the ringer, logs are not number, mistakes happen, tear it out, THROW IT IN THE TRASH! Redo log, don't keep the log you made a mistake on ether, just no reason to give DOT a reason yo keep you at the chicken coop
Hammer166 Thanks this. -
pull the staples out and put them in a loose leaf then you dont have to worry with all that and id never write void or use whiteout on a logbook why give them reason to look deeper.

Loose leaf was my best friend when I was doing OTR. I definitely wouldn't have two separate log books or would I write void or whiteout certain areas of the page. I don't know the legalities, it's probably perfectly fine, but like someone said before why give them a reason to inspect even closer. Although too many pages missing from a book and I'm sure they'll take notice of that also.
Take your time, write neat and try to get everything correct the first time. Or just have a real good hiding spot for that second log book. -
get rid of the stapled logs
get the loose pages and a binder
and just keep last 7 days in it for the Dot
if you keep more in the binder they can look at them
and jam you up -
My company gives us those bound logbooks too. What I do and what I did at Swift as well, was rip one of the pages out then go down to a copy place and make about 300 copies 8.5x11 on good paper that really takes the ink. I mostly did this because the bound logbook pages are like rice paper and don't feed into the transflo so well. Plus there towards the end with Swift paper log era, they came up with a way to present two days worth of logs on one 8.5x11 sheet which left very little room for remarks or DVIR. I kept right on using my single page logbook sheets and they never said a word.
I've had weigh station bears look at my logbook sheets and they have no problem with it.
Couple people said keep the last 7 days available, true, 7 days ago *plus* today for 8 total to show.double yellow Thanks this. -
I love my BigRoad App As good as paper but no need for a pen, and/or good handwriting...
