I got my CDL in California back in 1987 I drove for couple years and i had 2 young kids so i stopped driving and worked in other fields, for the last 10 years I've been over seas (Europe) and in 2009 my California CDL expired, right now i have a EU regular drivers license .
I'm planning to come back to the States, renew my CDL and start driving again. Since I don't want to have my home base in California, i was considering getting a Texas CDL, i called at a school in Texas and they say i need a class C Texas drivers license in order to enroll in their school, but i need to be a Texas resident to get a Texas drivers license. So my question is since i'm not a Texas resident should i get a California CDL and then apply for a job in Texas, or does some one knows what is the best way to do get my Texas CDL even though i'm not a resident there..
I was hopping to go to a Texas Driving school because i will have access to Texas based trucking companies through the school.
Driving school questions.
