So I have collected maybe 30-40 tickets in my lifetime, had two license suspensions a few wrecks. Fairly clean record for past ten years. I think a seatbelt ticket in the last five. NO DUI or drug charges ever. (I rarely drink, don't do drugs). Alot of my tickets were reduced to non moving violations in court, some dismissed altogether.
Have a Class A, Doubles-Triples, Tanker, Passenger, endorsements.
Have three years driving, part time driver, full time mechanic, same company, still doing this.
How are trucking companies looking at this sort of record? how far do they look back, how far can they look back?
I know they can see the tickets looking at "criminal History" through job screening services.
Who would hire me ? lots of tickets in the past.

any felonies? they will go back 10 years on employment. 5years on your DMV and 5 years on your DAC/PSP
-
Depends on what shows up on your printout .

30 to 40 tickets means you were born to be a careless driver nd trucking is just not for you. You still can try but seriously dude if you screwed up or hit someone pretty bad you will see your ss in jail not to offense but your driving history is the worst i have never heard about. Gotta agree with Aduiepyle on this one... too many good drivers out there looking for work...

Why so many tickets? If it's been 10 yrs you might be alright but don't plan on driving for the better companies they probably are strickter.Thing to do before filling out apps is go to their website and see what their qualifications are.
G.Anthony Thanks this. -
The best indicator of future performance is past performance. They do not want you driving their truck the same way you drive your own car.

As someone who got a lot of tickets in my younger, way dumber days, I know what a weight they can be. But if you really only have one seatbelt ticket in the last five years, you will probably be ok. Get a printout of your MVR from your loacl office and go from there.

That many tickets is a HUGE red flag these days. The best you can hope for a "second chance" outfit like Western Express or Carolina Cargo. Put your time in there, KEEP YOUR NOSE SQUEEKY CLEAN, and maybe (just maybe!) you can move back up in the industry.

So is there a limit to how far back they can look?
