Having to sit for 30 days with a trainer who pisses in jugs and open cups ,##### and bags and had moldy cups lying around everywhere.

Then I'm told no one in the industries actually pre trips they just log the time because if you find something that needs to be repaired and call your dispatcher they will put you on a #### list for no miles.

Also you have to lie on your logs a lot or else you get no miles ,like my trainer wouldn't log his training time on duty or wouldn't start his clock even though he was driving somewhere to get a load .He was up for 32 hours with no sleep the day I quit .

Hell theday I quit he started at 6am and never once switched to on duty ,at 9 pm he still had 11 hours and I'm told this is how the industriey is if you want to make any living.

I guess I'm just no trucker because I don't like to piss in open containers and #### in bags and carry them around for months ,or drive with no trailor lights at night in giant snow storms.

Sorry that Western Express didn't work out for you - I had a family member go there for a short time, and his experience was less than stellar, or even safe.

However - the data entry job you previously held may look more appealing now.

You can always try doing a little more research and going to a company that has a decent reputation for training and safety.

    Good luck on your journey.

Kinda agree with Blair here. There is so much information on Western Express on here and other places that its really hard to not see how bad they are. They arent referred to Convict Express for nothing. There are plenty of other companies that you can go with that are far better than they are.

That's funny. I saw two team drivers for Western Express smoking crack at a loading dock in Sacramento.
They are the exception, not the rule.
Try Watkins Shepard if you are new.
Great company, and none of the BS you experienced.
    No ride along trainers either.
2 week orientation at the terminal, then out you go on your own.
    I loved working for them.

He has no business training anybody. I'm days away from my 13th year driving T/T's and never once have I relieved myself inside the truck. I have never failed to have a defect in the equipment repaired out of fear of getting on dispatch's bad side. If the equipment is broke, it needs to be fixed. Period. My life is worth more than the load, and this truck ain't moving 'til it is SAFE for me to do so. Period. No point in them arguing, because it won't change the situation. You shouldn't HAVE to falsify your logs in order to make money. If you do, you are not only committing a crime, but you are also working for the wrong company. If he gets into a wreck, the other person's attorney is going to be looking at his log book and ALL supporting documents (BOL's, fuel receipts, etc.) to match up time stamps for the past 6 months (the length of time the carrier is required to keep those documents). The other person's lawyer will also subpoena his cell phone records, bank records, credit card records, etc. For the same time period to match against the log book. It doesn't take much with a guy who runs the way you have described to show he intentionally falsified his log and exceeded HOS on a regular basis and his liability in the wreck (as well as the company's) goes through the roof. Heck, he could be sitting stopped at a red light one night and get rear ended by somebody drunk 3x the legal limit, and HE (and the company) will wind up paying the widow's family millions in damages because he shouldn't have been there for the drunk to crash into...and the pattern makes it worse. CRIMINAL charges could follow as well. Now imagine what would happen if he screwed up and caused the wreck? Manslaughter, vehicular homicide, etc. would all be open-and-shut cases for the prosecutor.

Bottom line, that ISN'T the "industry standard" your "trainer" (and I use that term loosely) claims it is. In fact, the only thing he's teaching you is what NOT to do. Drivers (and again, using that term loosely) like him are the PROBLEM with this industry, and the sooner you can get away from him (and possibly that company) the better off you'll be.

There's some good flatbed companies out there, it you want flatbed.

Jones Bros. Trucking - Missoula, MT - $50.00 tarp pay, $100.00 Canada pay, the shorter the run more CPM, but average run is over 1000 miles, rider policy.

    Waggoners Trucking Co.
    Halvor Lines
    Decker Truck Line

Pride Transport - $50.00 tarp pay, xm radio, satellite TV, refrigerator, rider policy.

If you would quit a career based on this make beleive idea that THAT is how the trucking industry operates, or that the filthy scumbag you were with is a representation of how truckers lived then you lake common sense to say the least.
