After all of your experience and knowing the tricks of the trade what would you do differently in your career if you could do it all again?

As straight and direct a line to LTL as possible, then a focused 5 year asset collection and debt reduction period, linked with a cash accumulation strategy to own a truck outright. Then I'd be 5 years younger than I am now. I don't think the last 5 years as a company driver taught me a whole lot, and I could have used the extra life points.

Or, as other folks told me, I'd have stayed at school longer.

    I wouldn't do anything different.

I did did my homework and made good choices right out of the gate and had a solid 5 year plan and a clear direction.

Went with a community college program that I checked out well before I laid down a dime and wasn't locked into a slave labor contract.

Went with a good training company that I thoroughly researched which in turn set me up for the good gig I have now that I conceivably can retire from.

As as with everything in life, proper preparation yields better than average results.

i kinda like what i do
    never drove anything but reefer
    like going to CA

now if i could go back to 1985 and the money made fishing and a couple less divorces
quitting drinking in 1981 instead of 2001
    that might change response

Sold the house and everything else I owned and gone OTR for a couple years or however long it took for me to figure out what to do with myself.
