    Hello,

After many years working in an office job, I'm looking forward to getting out on the road and starting a new career :) Saying that, I just started to pursue Con-Ways training program for OTR. I haven't really asked the recruiter this yet but I was hoping someone here might be able to guide or explain this to me. Does living in a state and specific city increase the amount of miles that you can get? If so, does anyone know the best areas? I've read that some people liked the south west and north west. But I'm not sure if any of that would apply to Con-Way or not.

I currently live in Texas but I also have the option to go to California, although I am a little worried it may be hard to find a place to park a truck there.

Thanks you for any information that you may have!

All the freight yards pay pretty much the same.
Go for one in the sticks. Make your life easy.

If you live near i35 you shouldn't have a problem getting home. I'd prefer Detroit MI though...

Stay in Texas. If you're running OTR it doesn't matter which state you live in. Conway will be running you where the freight is.

Thanks for the replies, I talked to a recruiter and Texas seems to be where a lot of activity is at.
