Has anyone seen father- son team drivers? My dad did this a few years back and seems interested in starting back since I'm starting school soon. Would his prior exp help my pay at all or would my inexp hurt his?
Family drivers?

Neither one, you both would be paid off your individual experience. Yes Ive heard of it. I was taught to drive by my Dad 30 some odd years ago. I taught my son last year. Now hes pulling down about 1200 per week, regional CA NV AZ UT
gnewb12 Thanks this. -
Several father/son and brother/brother teams have posted on here and all were doing well.
If your father has been off the road for awhile, he's starting out as a new driver just like you.
Best thing to do is start looking for a good coast-to-coast company that uses teams. Put your location on your profile and several drivers can point you in the right direction for good team companies that hire new CDL graduates. Old Dominion is one of the best, but plenty more good ones out there. -
Father /son team driving would be a good deal for both you guys.... Go for the long miles (coast to coast) and with that team combo you guys would be like gold & be a very marketable access to alot of companies..... "Go 4 it"

Well, my pop used to own his own truck "back in the day", but we never drove together. Firstly because of the age difference (he had me when he was 45)- he was retired by the time I turned 19. But even if we had been closer in age, I dunno if we could have managed that....I love my pop more than anything, but 2 related Italians (one from NY, and me a southern boy!) in that close of quarters would be more fireworks than the 4th of July!!!

On another thread you said you're also interested in Southeast regional.
Dartco Inc. has this. Home weekly & dispatched out of Atlanta. -
I knew a father/son team that pulled for TRL. (are they still around?)
I believe the dad was making a little more than his son.
I kind of admired them because I knew my son and I would be going loggerheads after a couple days of being cooped up like that.
