    Hello,
So I have been driving sense last March nearly a whole year I was trained at Stevens transport and quickly move to werner after 3 months werner hasn't been as bad as a lot of people say at Stevens started me out at . 26 a mile werner I'm now getting . 33 a mile anyways.(i had 1 backing incident. 2 weeks out with a trainer...
I was thinking of taking my career to the next level. first company I was thinking about was FedEx or Conway / O. D
I'm looking for a company that pays good. not sure if it's called ltl or relay, line haul but pretty much for a example
I drive from Denver to Dallas drop off rehook back to Denver back and forth what company's does this?

There are plenty of good LTL companies that will pay you way better than the OTR megas. With LTL you can run city and be home everyday or run line haul and be out a couple of days. In any LTL company starting out you will be the bottom man on the extra board. Meaning you will not have an assigned run. Runs are bid on by seniority weather its a union company or nonunion. The bid rules are similar. With the economy recovering I'm working everyday hitting my 60. With holidays you may not work for a day or two but then its back to full throttle. A lot of LTL runs on the night shift so be honest with yourself and make sure you can handle that type of schedule. The pay in LTL is very good and our benefits are excellent as well. Another piece of advice is do some homework because in some LTL's you may be driving then working the dock.

    OD - you just drive
Conway- you drive then work the dock.
Fedex - you drive and work the dock.
    YRC - you just drive
    ABF - you just drive
    SAIA - you just drive

As you gain seniority you with say fedex or conway your dock time will be less and the driving distance more. If your not one for getting out of a warm truck only to go freeze on the open air dock then you may want to not apply to conway or fedex. If dock don't bother you then by all means apply to Conway or Fedex. Check out Estes and SAIA their drivers only drive.
