Hello everyone,
so here is my issue..
I am a otr trucker that has been driving for almost 2 years now. My wife has been my rider for just about the whole length of time i have been driving. She has been trying for the better part of this time to get her license straight and get a job working as my team driver. The problem is she recieved a speeding tickect in another state while in our personal car in 2013 it was a super speeder ticket going 86 in a 70 zone. And the just recently put it on her driving record. What companies would be willing to hire her with this recent addition to her record. How long should she wait to start applying? Is there anyway we can get the date changed on her record to the date that she recieved the ticket. She also has a red light ticket that is not due to come off until the end of this year. Any advice will be helpful!!
Desprate to drive please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You will probably have to try talking to the Clerk of the Court where the ticket happened, or have a lawyer talk to the Judge. Not sure if it can be changed or not once added, but worth a try. Did she try and fight the speeding ticket when she got it? or just paid the fine?. This is why you never just pay a fine. Most of the time that can be lowered since it is just over the threshold. The police know that most of the time out of state car drivers will not fight them, so it is a good source of money. A legal service will be your best bet though. Talk to more than one, since some are scam artists and will take your money with no chance of fixing it.

Back when I wanted a company sponsored training program for my cdl I was turned down by Swift, Prime, and Schneider. I had one minor accident and a spotty job history so it was looking hopeless for me.
Then I gave in and called CR England. They took me no problem. They love team driving and they turned out to not be really as bad as all the internet rumors say they are. They are not great, I left as soon as my required time to pay off my cdl training was up. But for your situation they might not be too bad if you get the right job with them. -
Start at square one: Does she have any "verifiable" driving experience? Does she have her CDL? Two tickets won't make them happy but teams are hard to come by so they'll cut her a lot of slack with just two tickets. Her time driving with you won't be counted by any company if she wasn't driving legally.
You ask for advice but leave out a lot of needed info. Has she completed a recognized CDL class? Does she have any OTR or combination driving experience? (other than with you) -
Here's 2 more ideas:
Try Earl Henderson Trucking. Tell them you want to sign up as a team and you be her trainer. She will still have about 3 weeks classroom/local driving it they approve her. It's a coast-to-coast reefer outfit.
She can attend a community college CDL school in Tampa. It costs about $2000.00 and after that the two of you can team with which ever company will hire her and there are several that will.
The Tampa unemployment office may even pay the tuition for CDL school. -
Best of luck pards................. tell the good wife to slow down! -

Companies won't cut her any slack even for teams, the don't make the call on hiring her their insurance company does.

So did your wife learn her lesson?I don't know what the hurry is,70 is plenty fast enough. Then a red lite ticket. She does know red lite means stop doesn't she?Anyway you might wanna try the smaller carriers, they have a more lenient insurance company. With respect sir,how long she should wait is until she respects signs and the law.Even though insurance companies make the call in this case companies may be leary about giving her a chance because of the 16 mph over the posted speed limit ticket.I'm just being honest. When it comes to especially the MVR companies are more stricter then ever before.
