Go slow. Do the load. I was up there and did just fine during the first storm. I think you'll be fine.
EDIT: Whoops... Surprised nobody called me on that. I've no idea where you're coming from, so ignore my directions!
The only issue I ran into last time I was up there was I got stuck in a dock because the shipper didn't prep it. (I'm a company driver, was told to deliver it and they would fish me out if needed. No harm no foul.)Last edited: Mar 4, 2015

Keep in mind, refusal of work can be considered a voluntary quit.
Also...dig this, trucking companies have a business to run. They are not there to give you a little hobby running around in their truck. Tail wagging the dog? Things happen, loads change, that's just he way it is. If you want complete freedom to run as you please, stop at the truck dealer of your choice, sign some papers and drive one out, then run as you please. -
Basically, you should only refuse a load for safety reasons. I had to refuse a load Monday because I hadn't had enough sleep yet (they woke me up) and would be a danger to motorists.
My load still got replaced which killed my chance at a reset, but I could safely run the load. So despite my irritation I had no viable reason to refuse.
Matter of fact, I'm headed back up that way in a couple hours. I usually stop at the wildwood pilot for a cup of coffee and will be at my destination by 4:30 est. If there's anything wrong with the roads I'll put a post up.
All the same, grab yourself some rock salt, cat litter and similar. I learned that the fun way! -
