I'm training in Illinois school, but I'm going to test in northwest Indiana. Any tips, help on the pre-trip ? or would it be the same as Illinois ?

I hope you're not just testing in Indiana thinking it's easier, then intending to later switch to an IL license, because IL will require you to take all tests all over again, just like you never had a test or CDL before.
Just wanted you to be aware, in case.
Anyhow, the pre-trip test should be basically the exact same as IL.
Naturally, some of the 'thoroughness' or questions may vary, but that happens even between examiners.
There's plenty of good study guides online to help you, as well as your CDL book and school training.
Check out the "CDL Practice Tests" at the top menu bar of this page.
After studying, if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.
Make sure you study & fully understand air brakes, especially.Indy12 Thanks this. -
I live in Indiana , the schools in Indiana wanted to much money, that is why I went to Il for training.

OK, that's understandable.
I just wanted to make you aware of IL re-test requirements for even valid CDL holders (from out of state). -
The Pretrip should be the same no matter where you test but if you're coming to an Internet forum for help with the Pretrip I'd question the schools teaching methods.

I heard that ever state was differnt, I'm 3 days into the school.
it's a good school. Just might be point less if Illinios pre trip is different.
of course I'm going to absorb all the info and learn. Thanks for the info -
well... a every truck pretty much has the same stuff on it. just start from the front and point at everything and say what you are checking and what for. however you want to start, just do it the same everytime, that way you dont miss anything.
