    Hey all,

So I took a trip to the DMV today and requested my h6 MVR(10 year history). My last ticket was a no seatbelt which was in 2009. I have never had a point on my record. My last accident which was not my fault was in 2010. What do you guys think my chances are of getting a job with a reputable company? I will be going to CDL school in a few months and just want to make sure all my ducks are lined up correctly and I wont have difficulty in the process. Again, all the feedback is much appreciated!! You guys are very helpful with any questions I had. Thanks!

You have very good chances of landing a job with a reputable carrier as long as you only apply to reputable carriers. Stay clear of the bottom feeders, they will hire you in a heart beat but will make you wish you had never heard of them faster than you can say online app! Research the motor carrier stories on here before you fill out any apps, it will help you make an informed decision.

All true! Do a lot of research here and on and own, decide what you want to do regional, dedicated, long all, local & dry van, reefer, flatbed. your school will have recruiters come in and speak if you are interested in one make notes and ask questions. Stay away from megas and team driving during training especially. Your MVR will not be a problem also if your work history is good. Good luck!

Very good, That really isn't a big deal. As long as your criminal background is clear as well

That is crispy clean. No issues whatsoever there. I am hoping I can get into fuel hauling in the Los Angeles area once I get my CDL.

Why do you need a 10 year MVR? Federal law states that companies can only use and look at the past five years of your MVR. So your wasting money getting a 10 year.

That is what we get here in NC but a company does not go back that far..
