I have thrree drops on tuesday in the bay I have been to california and LA but never San Francisco or San Jose. first drop is early afternoon, last is evening in san jose. Where can I park? I am pretty sure there is little room at last drop after looking at the area on google earth. And to complicate it further, as of now I dont know where next pickup will be. Thanks.

I couldn't find anything close to San Jose.. I use a website www.findfuelstops.com to find things for my husband. You can mark where it only pulls up branded stations, or if you do all, it may pull up stations that are just gas stations and no parking. It will map out places in the area and you can click on them to pull up the page. Call first if in doubt, and if it is a Walmart, google zoom in and check and see if it is one of the ones with trees all over the place where you can't get in safely, and make sure if you can really park there or not; PA is one area to be leery of.

The walmart on story rd in san jose has some parking on the side streets near it. I wouldnt try parking at the walmart itself cause its kinda tight in there. Look at google maps and you can see the side streets.

There's a truck stop in Gilroy and other than that , you'll have to go back east to Wesley Triangle or further to Ripon . Its going to be tough finding anything that late . Download the TruckerPath app for your smartphone . It lists a lot of the smaller hidden truck stops .

Yep...don't take any chances on illegal parking; California fines are heavy.

Get the hell out of there and go to the los banos rest stop.

I'd call around for hotels if you are squeezed that bad honestly. Worth dropping $60 over a $300 fine and still ending up getting a room.
