My company says that if I want to upgrade seats, then it's on my own dime. Is this the same for most companies or do some companies pay for their driver's seat upgrades?

Depends on the company and the condition of the seat. I've had a seat replaced but the seat was flat wore out. If it's serviceable, good luck.

Notlaw what's wrong with the seat you have?Seats aren't cheap don't know of any company that will give u a new seat unless like post#2 says, its wore out.

Most will replace the bottom cushion if it is wore out but to buy an upgraded seat figure on buying your own.
I have a new Legacy low pro.....best 500 bucks I ever spent!
If you buy a seat make sure to measure the mounting holes.....it is not the same in every truck. -
Thanks guys. My back is in rough shape, looking for a seat that can improve the angle of my posture

Can you just swap for the passenger seat? How's the passenger seat look?

Just my 2 cents here but if i were you i don't think i would push the issue with your company that you have a bad back or health issues. You may become a liability at that point. Gobto a dealer and check out what they have on display. And buy one on yourself
