I know how to do a bleed down with a manual truck. My question is in regard to the part where you put the truck in gear and shut it off to start bleeding down the air. How do you do this with an automatic? Are you able to shut an automatic off in gear? Thanks drivers!

Use a couple wheel chocks and leave it in neutral

We're talking about an air loss test as part of your pre-trip? I was taught to use chocks and be in neutral even in a manual tractor. So X2 on what ColoradoGreen said.

Or if you're in Indiana, park with your tires in one of their bottomless potholes. Of course, you may need a tow truck to get out. So, maybe just use the wheel chock idea.

My tires have made pretty decent size depressions in the asphalt where I park. It holds it quite firmly.
In winter I have to make sure I do not park in them or will get frozen in! Hahahaa

If no chocks do it twice. Once for the trailer and once for the tractor.
