I have the Garmin 560 LMT. It's a good GPS that has all the bells and whistles you mentioned. It also includes HAZMAT routing which is awesome. I've used it for about a year and a half. Best investment you can make outside of a good atlas.

I mean the Garmin 560 DEZL LMT. When your Looking for a GPS make sure you get the one for truckers specifically. They will keep you on truck specific routes so you don't find yourself in a residential neighborhood or streets that don't allow trucks.

There are many here more than willing to help.

But I have to ask. Did you use the search feature to find the many threads on this subject? Most very current.

It really just comes down to personal preference really. Some guys like the Garmin's others like the Rand McNally 530 or 730 series. Both let you route according to hazmat or customize a personal route with waypoints. My company uses the Rand McNally 760, which is e-logs and a GPS all in one.

However with any GPS just let the robot voice play in the background while you keep your eyes on the road signs.

    Your brain.

Can't tell you how many times that stupid garmin went into recalucating .....recalculating.....yup still recalculating. .....(you'll see lol just use the trip planner function to save your trip after you've done your detour to get your waypoints back)

Honestly the waze run Google maps are the best for up to date free info.

I only used the GPS for live city driving after doing a Google earth of that route and a backup left left left route "just in case"

Cobra sucks don't get that one. Horrible to the user.

Garmin will piss you off with the recalculating but is the most user friendly.

Rand McNally has the best trucking model for trucking info but not as user friendly as the garmin.

I've only used these three. Rand McNally had a nice little weather function that the others didn't have but you can just get that from ridley or your phone...

I still say Rand McNally, despite the flaws.

    Used them all extensively.
