None.. Being paid by the mile leaves too many variables... Freight flow, weather delays, truck break downs, delays at shippers or receivers....... Anybody that says they pull down that kind of money weekly is either running illegal or not being truthful
NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
For a student? Im guessing very few to none.
Ashley LTL pays 13-1500+ with no endorsements but they don't hire students. Truckload side is a little less but still better than average I'm averaging 1200+ on truckload but again, no students.
You gotta pay your dues and work up to that kind of money.
Maybe food service if you can find one willing to train. OD takes students in certain terminals but you're gonna work the dock first and work your way into a driving spot. -
I manage 1100 a week and am home every weekend and feel pretty lucky to get that...
NavigatorWife and JZenn Thank this. -
More realistically, what are some good otr companies that pay 55+. I am interested in the otr experience but anything under 50k is just not worth the sacrifice to me. I mean, you can work locally for chip/soft drink distributors for that. Schneider has a regional otr position open in my area they advised 60k per year. I live in a very rural area and use to work for a the worlds largest food distributer driving class b trucks and made 55k, every driver does.
What appeals to me is I like to see the country and have no dependents, married etc. so I can run hard. I do have all endorsements and have been told .40 cpm should be expected. I just seem very skeptical about many of these companies and wont get burned with b/s. The trucking industry is one of the better industries to be in for the next 10 years. Looking forward to it. -
.55 a mile is possible, but you gotta have freight! Best I have done is .40 with a dedicated run, 4100 miles a week. The equipment was junk but the money was good and plenty of freight. Schneider 60k? What, do they have an auto transport fleet now? Don't trust anyone, when you go for an interview walk straight to the break room and talk to some of the drivers first, then HR!knuckledragger, loose_leafs and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Wal mart, shaffer, just off top of my head.

No offense but you're in dreamland and better wake up to reality. You won't find one company that'll pay that even on a good week of running and especially for a new driver. You're looken at more like 5 to 800 a week and even that's pushing it.
loose_leafs, dog-c and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Schineder tanker division pays $81K a year. I have one friend making closer to $90k out of the Mobile, AL terminal and another friend I went to school with in training right now and loves it. If they allowed pets I would have signed on with them.
Check their website and see if they are hiring in your area. -
If you want to make that kind of money a week starting out you're in the wrong field.
