Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have my class A CDL's with very little exp and no endorsements. I was with SWIFT back in 2010 and made it through the training program there and ran a few loads with them before having to come home to take care of some personal things. So in total roughly 4 months with them. If at all possible, are their any companies that will take a look at me and hire me on even if I have to do a refresher course or even the whole training program.

    Thanks guys

Very few companies. As it stands, maybe your best bet is to try some of the local companies near you. Like mom/pop places, maybe even some LTL companies.

But be forewarned, that many if not all usually REQUIRE a fully endorsed driver.

As it stands now, the prices being paid for the endorsements can be cheap. If time goes on, and any state feels some sort of financial pinch, they can raise the fee's for the tests.

That's all they are by the way, written tests. Many states have the tests on computers, when you hit the magic "pass" number the computer shuts off.

I'd highly recommend the doubles, triples, hazmat, tankers tests.

Now some may say to also get a TWIC card.

I say NO, unless an employer that hires you REQUIRES IT~!

Till then, as long as you have the other endorsements, they will keep you employed till you actually do go and get a TWIC card.

I had one (TWIC), but never used it, in fact, I used to haul diesel fuel, and had to go to the tank storage area, and they NEVER asked to see my card!

    Good luck

But if in the end, you do need a refresher..???

Ask your local schools how much that will cost. Should only be roughly a 40 hour long course (1 week)

If you have a valid CDL and a good record, there's plenty of companies that will put you through a refresher course.

Freymiller has a program to get drivers with a gap in driving back on the road. This company would be my first choice in similar situation.

If Freymiller doesn't work, then try Earl Henderson Trucking Co. They pull reefers coast to coast and border to border. They also provide hotel room and 3 meals a day while at school. You have the CDL-A so you're way ahead of the game in training.

You will have to do thru a refresher and the entire training but I would say companies will hire you,the starter companies anyway.

I worked for Freymiller for 18 months, and they're a good company.

There are some companies that will but most experience needs to be with three years. You will have verified driving experience and get paid for those few months but you will have to start all over again. If you want check out professional driver agency and they may be able to help you find a company that will take you with your experience.
