Been driving tankers and flatbeds in the oilfields for the last 3 yrs. decided to get away from it and go regional with con way.
Royal Express was going to hire me also out of San Antonio. But I have concerns with them. #1 they only pay comp data
#2 they have no web site to promote their business, and to get a overall view of their company. #3 all I have seen about them are on here in the bad company forum & a unofficial royal express page on facebook, with everyone giving bad reviews. They do have brand new trucks, and were going to start me at 36 cpm, Con Way 26 til I get done with a trainer. Plus I wanted to have a trainer to learn the in & outs of regional and long haul, were as Royal Express was just going to put me in my own truck right away. So I feel like in the long run I made the right choice. What do you think?

I think you made a wise decision. Not worth the risk of getting the Royal Jelly with Royal Express.

I can't believe with 3 years experience they still are going to make you do training... How long do you have to do this for?

I think for 2 weeks! or a 1000 miles. All my driving has been local oilfields runs, with longest runs from San Antonio to Houston to pick up pipe. So to be honest I think somebody showing me the ropes ain't a bad idea.

Thanks! I to think it's better this way, really didn't want to just get thrown to the wolves.

So to be honest I think somebody showing me the ropes ain't a bad idea. :yes2557: Very smart move , get to learn the ins / outs of how CON WAY operates and a feel for things on the road as you noted it's a bit different that what you are use to doing.
