the short answer is no if you want to provide any quality of life for the kids and any money to live on at all. those offenses will limit you to all but the worst of the worst bottom feeder companies that will keep you out forever and pay you little to nothing.

the better course of action if you do get the license would be to check local construction companies, dump operators, cement mix companies, logging outfits, those types of outfits that might be a little more lenient and willing to give you a chance and go from there.

be honest with yourself and ask yourself with that record in your background if you owned a truck that cost well into 6 figures and were carrying a load worth well into 6 figures, would you hire yourself?.......or would your insurance company allow you to hire yourself? not meaning to be harsh, just real and pointing out the reality of your situation.

everyone deserves a second chance if they demonstrate they are deserving of it. I wasn't such a respectable and successful type and was quite the bad boy when I was younger I just never got caught and my offenses didn't fall into the same category......but it could have easily had been me but for different reasons, the grace of god and always staying one step ahead.

there are several companies that are considered 'second chance' companies. do a search on here for felonies/criminal record/second chance companies and spend some time doing some reading.

2 that immediately come to mind are Carolina cargo and western express. the bottom of the bottom of the barrel but they have been known to hire those in your situation on a case by case basis but know going in that it's a crapshoot, the hometime will be limited and the pay will be low. call them and explain your situation to them and see what they say. if those 2 say no, then an otr gig is probably out of reach until you put at least 10 years between yourself and then last offense. if they don't bite, then look at the more local mom and pop construction type gigs to get some seat time

You can get a trucking job...however your options are severely limited. Put where you live in your profile...general area.

neither would I but he asked for options. you gotta truly be desperate to go there. guess it depends on how bad you want it or what your other options are in other fields.....or if there are no other options.

I'd drive a septic truck and clean out #### boxes before I went there lol

The unemployment office will probably pay for CDL school.
Several companies will hire you for OTR.
Maybe some local companies for local work in your area, but you will have to knock on some doors to find them.

If you're unemployed, then $800.00 a week and running to California every week looks pretty good. I'd jump on it in a heartbeat before drawing unemployment checks.

Carolina Cargo will hire anybody. Period.
I was talking to one of their driver's recently. He said he had a murder charge from '99. I'm thinking what are you doing out, but I wisely didn't say anything.
They're more concerned with your driving record, obviously for insurance reasons.
But, my question to you is who is going to watch your kids if you go otr? That is a full time commitment. You can't take them with you, at least not in training.
BTW CC only runs teams. No rider policy that I'm aware of.
But, if you do go with a bottom feeder, look at it as a short-term business arrangement. You may not be working under the best of conditions, but at the end of the day you gain experience in the industry. That, in turn, will open up many more doors. Good luck.

Your babies need you more than you need to live on the highway..... With those kinds of hits on your record, you would be wasting time on trashy trucking companies, they would hire you just so they could suck the life out of you.....
.... Since your wife passed away, the kids qualify for ss and that will help you raise them, try getting on with an LTL company loading trucks and work your way up to possibly getting a CDL thru one of them and end up on a good paying local driving job that puts you home every day.... Even starting out on the dock would pay you a decent wage.... Way better than any Highway hobo trucking Company and your little ones would get be with you everyday
.... Companies like ABF, HOLLAND, ESTES, FEDEX and such companies need dock workers and if you still want to drive the big trucks, they will train you the right way by starting you out in a switcher
..... You don't want to drive OTR anyway with kids or a marriage ... OTR jobs are for singles only!
.... This may not be the answer you were looking for but believe it or not I'm sticking up for you and those babies
