I just spoke with prime recruiter again I have everything almost settled just waiting on them to verify one last job and I should be ready to go but the recruiter last minute told me that at Prime if you go Flatbed that you have to pay for your own tarps chains and what not...and I guess its about 2500-3000 which they take out weekly from your checks that wasn' even mentioned on their site ...now the only other thing they have in my area is refrigerated tanker you have to live 30 miles from Houston . I'm kind of second guessing prime now for that reason alone ...might just wait on mavericks opening in June ...question is do you usually pay for tarps chains and things in other companies also?

No, I cant think of any of the big companies that have their company driver buy their equipment like that. Prime used to have higher tarp pay ($50) than the other places and the difference in pay would pay off the equipment in the long run. But quite a few places have raised tarp pay around $35-$45 or so so I don't think it's worth the time it would take for it to pay off.
If your just looking for a year experience I'd say reefer is a better deal. -

I cant see a company forcing a company driver to buy tarps, chains, etc...it makes no sense. If that's the case though screw them.

Prime O/O's pay for their equipment. Co. drivers ..no

Maybe she had company driver and L/P mixed up?

Company drivers and L/O pay for the equipment. Company drivers get $50 tarp pay and L/O gets whatever the "tarp pay" is.
