I am brand new CDL holder waiting to start driving. Person was talking about that even when your on your days off and not driving your truck, you still have to log your driving even if running to do your grocery shopping. NO WAY THIS CAN BE TRUE...RIGHT?

No need to log your driving time in your personal car, unless your running to the store in the semi you don't have to log driving time. you do have to log your weekend off as off duty though to keep 7 days showing
pensacolakhoury Thanks this. -
You only log driving a commercial vehicle. Not your own car. Someone is either pulling your chain or else someone told him that and he's really gullible.

Well, that's what the guy at the buffet in the truckstop said. It ain't true?

Then you will have people try and tell you that it is legal to deduct gas for your commute from taxes. They swear that they have been doing it for years, and maybe they have. But that does not make it legal.
Same as guys trying to deduct lost income due to deadheading. NOPE. not legal. You cannot deduct income you have not made...
Let the flood gates open, and really liven up this thread lol.pensacolakhoury Thanks this. -

If you mow the widow womans lawn and she gives you $5.00 you have to log it as on duty not driving. If you don't it's a minimum 5 years in a federal prison.
Numb Thanks this. -
