    Hi all,
I currently have my class B CDL's airbrake tanker and hazmat. I have my A permit and passed my parking lot skills and pretrip on my driving test I bumped the curb and have to retest. Does anybody know of any locations that have easy road test in Pennsylvania?
    thanks,
    Joe

Sorry, no, there are no easy road tests in PA. The roads are so bad they want you to know how to deal with them here in PA.

It sounds like you're making progress. Practice what you missed and try again. I'm sure you'll do well.

I went to Penndot headquarters in Harrisburg. (This was 14 years ago). If you've ever been there, you'll know just getting out of the parking lot can be tough. First trip, I made it out ok, we went out and did the road test, everything went well until I made the turn from 13th street onto Sycamore and bumped the curb. So I failed the first one.

A week later, I go for a retest, didn't do a good pre trip before leaving, and the truck failed the pre trip. (Air leak).

On my third try, as I was I pulling out of Penndots parking lot, a stop sign jumps out and commits suicide. Yep, I ran it over, killed it graveyard dead. The person testing me shrugs his shoulders and says 'keep going, that sign always bothered me anyway'. I thought he was joking, but he insisted I proceed. Third time was a charm, as I finally passed with no issues.

But to your question, without knowing your location in PA, I can only suggest what's close to me. They would be Harrisburg, which isn't too bad. Next would be Selinsgrove which I hear is a piece of cake, as it's in farm country. Then there's the third party testers, which I hear some are picky, and others are pretty laid back.

    Good luck.

Always watch out for those pesky signs in your way! Good story lol I had one that stepped behind me while I was backing some time ago.

I can't imagine a road test in Harrisburg, outta that neighborhood with a 53 these days. Good Luck

I went to the CDL school at LCCTC at Mount Joy in 2009. Good school, excellent instructors. Certified inspector there and drove around the area for test. Not bad at all.

Gettysburg/new Oxford area. I took my test in Duncannon outside Harrisburg about a week and a half ago. I did the same thing it is tight going out of the bus company. The company that I work for part time does gas transport and the only non-hazmat Trailer they have is a split axle flatbedand you have to have the face will slid all the way back makes it pretty long.

You might wanna look up Deitch Bus service in Newville then. I know they were a third party tester a few years ago. Friend of mine went there and had no issues. And trust me if he could pass without an issue, anyone can!

Bumping curbs is just trucking. I deliver to a place that requires a curb bump on your way out. No avoiding it.
