| Feetsies! So, I'm thinking tennis shoes might be a bit soft for pushing a clutch pedal all day... Are work boots the way to go? Or, something like a hiking boot, maybe? Steel toe, open toe, pumps Whatcha think? Or, does it not even matter? Thanks! |

| A good quality hard sole sneaker would be fine for clutching & mashing that gas pedal. Work boots, in my opinion are hot, uncomfortable and a chore to lace up in the morning. A sneaker you can slip right on and be ready to drive in comfort. I think flip flops look very unprofessional when worn in public. A positive personal apperance will gain you lots of respect on the docks. With regard to open toe and pumps...(are you female?) I think open toe is also inappropriate as well as prohibited footware at some shippers and receivers. If you do wear sneakers it is a wise idea to keep a pair of work boots (steel toe prefered) in the sidebox. They are required safety equipment at a lot of manufacturing plants especially chemical facilities. |

| I prefer velcro laced tennies for driving, but keep a good pair of Redwing steel toes in the truck as needed. As for the tennies, light colors work well, keep your feet much cooler than dark colored ones. |

| I wear steel toe boots everytime I get in the truck. I have had the same pair for about almost 2 years and they are still as good as new. They are the lightest and most comfortable steel toe boots I have ever worn as well! No break in period, they are soft leather but not so soft that they get cut up. 100% made in America! Search Thorogood Wellington safety toe boots. Kinda pricey but well worth it. I gave $150 for these at a local boot & outdoor wear shop. Probably get them cheaper online though.

| I've found that whenever I go cheap on workboots I pay for it some other way, either in lack of comfort or longevity. So I don't skimp on my boots.

You get what you pay for. Personally I prefer a "New Balance" sneaker and a "Red Wing" boot. I buy most of my clothing & footware from Cabelas. Top quality..no cheap merchandise there...and you can buy from their retail stores, catalog or online. |

| I've had a lot of luck with Timberlands, but like everyone else has said, you definitely get what you pay for, and if you go cheap, you will pay for it. I did (almost) three years for Fedex, jumping in and out of a parcel van, and a good pair of work boots was a neccessity. |

| I wear workboots and keep a pair of sneakers handy.
