Digital Tachograph Help Please.

Hello all

Very soon at work we will have to use Digital Tachographs in our
new trucks.
I was wondering if anyone can give me as much information as possible on them and any tips like ..

The paper roll print out - Does the driver fit that in ?

If yes how ?

The more info the better

Thankyou for your time.

Hello Dragons,

I haven't officially introduced myself to the board yet, which I will do in the next few days orso.

But the question you're asking, doesn't apply for US and Canadian drivers. It's European only. US and Canadian drivers use logbooks to keep track of their time.

Overhere in Europe, we use a tachograph, in which the digital one is the newest form.

To answer your question, there is a link to a manual on the internet, but I believe posting a weblink isn't allowed here. So, if you want it, please PM me and I'll give it to ya.

Thanks !

Lex

Actually, if it's an informative link, related to the subject at hand, then it is permitted. We try to limit links to outside companies advertising produtcs and things for sale, but we have no problem with links germane to the discussion.

Burky, thanks for clearing that up. It's a manual, so I guess it's informative enough

But somehow it won't allow me to post links, because I havent hit the 20 post count yet. If I pass it on to you, maybe you can drop it here ?

And I will proper introduce myself in the next few days. Im trying, and that's the key word here, trying, to get up to speed with all the great threads on this board.

Thanks again !

I've used a tachograph and I'm sure there are more U.S. drivers that have. It's just ours were wind up and we had to place the grid paper in the thing and lock it (ha). Don't worry driver if they require you to use one then they will show you how to use it. No one is required or know all there is to know in the trucking industry and I'm sure if you ask they will help.
