When I was OTR, which was quite sometime ago (except also for one month this year) I have not had any problems other than missing tail lights and one time my tandem pin was pulled. Oh and once I had my little bbq ripped off but that was my fault because we left it at the rear of the trailer. Thats about it as far as I can remember

Does anyone know what sort of documentation a trucking company needs before they hire you? Do they insist on seeing old W-2's and/or 1099's, or do they just place calls to past employers to see if your past dates/work history adds up correctly? Or do certain companies ask for more than others? If so, which ones?

They want the name, address, phone number of all of your previous employers for ten years. If any of the companies you worked for are out of business they will want the W-2 to prove it existed. If you were self employed they will want 1099 information. You will have to prove out all non working time such as unemployment.

A friend of mine had this happen to his brother. He went asleep after feuling his truck. He woke up seen that both of his mirrors were moved. He looked out saw a guy stealing his feul. He didnt get of the truck but he called the cops they caught the guy. He was an owner operator. I guess we need to fill up after we sleep
