i am trying to figure out the cost of running a trucking company to see how many miles i would have to drive a month to make money. so for the questions

1. on avg how much dose the insurance cost to run a truck (either per month or year) i know there are alot of factors but i am looking for a ballpark

2. how much is spent on Maintenance (oil changes, tires ect)

3. how offten do you have to do Maintenance on the truck and trailer (how offten do you do oil changes, change tires, ect)

4. what other costs are there that i am over looking

ask in the owner operator section to get a better answer, more info there on running a trucking company as every owner operator runs there own company with a fleet of 1 vehicle or more. if i sound rude, its just the coldness of the answer, always willing to help some one with questions.

insurance runs me $241/month....but i get a fleet discount ( fleet of about 140 trucks)
just an oil change will run about $250....any other time i go into the shop it generaly runs me a grand a pop
tires...steers just ran me $1100, and i had the other 16 recapped ( 1 time only) at a cost of $2300
oil is changed every 12k miles......tires are done when i need them (hopefully not again for a long time)...greased once a week....fluids checked everyday and added as needed

your missing
fuel....at a cost of about $1500 a week....about 6k a month....or 12k miles
taxes.....lets not go into that one
plates....figure $120/month to cover your once a year fees
IFTA......grrrrrr....anouther ill leave alone
road service fee's......trust me they arent cheap
misc.....can get spendy if you like the chrome shop


i know im missing some things......but give me a break....im not feeling good after eating at rotten ronny's
